Mr Espresso was founded in 1996 by Veni Chorafitis,
dedicated to the pursuit of ultimate espresso coffee...
and changing the world into a better place.

Our history and evolution is an interesting tale. Based on old world
values of freshness and friendly service, we are about Good coffee;
good fresh simple food and good relationships. So we feel we can make a difference this way.

Currently we have 6 stores, with more on the way (but no rush..). Our espresso bars believe in HAND MADE espresso and our slow Wood Roasting technique is an old world tradition that creates the unique flavours of the wood flame. Every coffee is aged to ensure optimum flavours and a true coffee experience in its original artisan form.

We are powered by a dedicated team of "beans" that mobilise our vision from bean farmers (those that make our food), to the bean makers (those that pride themselves behind the bar) and even our bean runners (those that wake up at 3:30am to get all supplies in-store ready for the morning rush). Our team just love having fun. We have a great culture, throw huge parties (look out for our upcoming espresso parties) and are control freaks when it comes to quality. Just ask any one of our 1,000,000 bean loving customers.

And these days we are active in our communities giving back where we can, like the ME Charity Run (distributing our unsold food to homeless shelters), our ME water where we donate 10c from every bottle and support local initiatives, $3 @3 where donate all profits to our charity and sustainability in our practices... recycled materials in our stores, coffee composting, upcoming bio and eco friendly cups.

Check out our Eastgardens store that is our living, breathing sustainability statement. From re-using one of our original bars, to recycled wood panels and NOW our new Kingsgrove store....some interesting ideas have gone into this design.  We don't like to cookie cut our stores.

To some we may be some crazed fanatics, but to us, capturing sweet espresso is a beautiful analogy of living a life lived by the moment –and creating singular, special relationships. Savouring the little luxuries this world has to offer - sharing with our communities and giving back, acknowledging our environment, our team that drives our ambitious vision and most importantly our customers who believe in us.
